Estimate a fixed-reference 2026 Original Medicare budget with full Part B and Part D income adjustments, entered Medigap premiums and annual costs.
Fixed 2026 budget for one beneficiary on Original Medicare with full Part B, Part D and optional Medigap. Select single or married filing jointly and enter the applicable 2024 modified adjusted gross income (MAGI); Medicare normally uses income from two years earlier, but corrections or appeals can change the determination. Joint status selects household MAGI, but premiums remain for one person. Married filing separately and other filing regimes are not supported. A premium-free Part A is assumed. Medicare Advantage, immunosuppressive-drug-only Part B, late-enrollment penalties, assistance programs and individual eligibility are not modeled. No premium quote or coverage guarantee is provided.
This U.S. budget uses the fixed 2026 CMS full Part B and Part D income-adjustment tables. It adds the Part B premium to your entered Part D plan premium plus its income adjustment and the optional Medigap premium you enter. The monthly total includes these premiums only. The annual total is twelve times the monthly premiums plus your separate annual out-of-pocket assumption. That assumption can include care costs you expect to pay yourself, but the calculator does not apply benefits, deductibles, copays, networks or prescription formularies to individual services.
The Part B premium and Part D income adjustment use CMS's 2026 full-coverage table. The final tier begins at $500,000 single or $750,000 joint; preceding ordinary upper thresholds are inclusive. Enter actual Part D and optional Medigap premiums separately; do not enter a bundled Medicare Advantage premium. The Part D adjustment is additional to the entered plan premium. Annual out-of-pocket costs are an assumption, not a maximum or protection guarantee. Whole-USD inputs produce exact cent totals; chart components are annual USD and sum to the annual card. Future years and actual plan terms may differ.
For single filing, ordinary upper thresholds are $109,000, $137,000, $171,000 and $205,000; for married filing jointly they are $218,000, $274,000, $342,000 and $410,000. Equality belongs to the lower tier at each of those ordinary boundaries. The final tier is different: it starts at $500,000 single or $750,000 joint, including equality. At that tier the full monthly Part B reference is $689.90 and the Part D adjustment is $91.00 in addition to the plan premium. Changing one dollar at a threshold can therefore change an entire month's reference premium, rather than just a marginal tax amount.
The chart displays annual dollar components for Part B, Part D including its adjustment, Medigap and the out-of-pocket assumption. These components sum to the annual budget card. Joint filing does not double them: the budget remains for one beneficiary and needs a separate calculation for a spouse. Zero Part D or Medigap plan premiums are valid entered assumptions, but do not prove free coverage or eligibility. This is a budgeting worksheet using fixed public references, not an enrollment decision, insurer quote or prediction of a future medical bill.
