Model: vehicle price equals adjusted capitalized cost, with zero down payment or other capitalized-cost reductions and no capitalized fees. Monthly depreciation is (price minus residual) divided by months; monthly rent is (price plus residual) times the decimal money factor. The money factor is not an annual percentage rate.

The total includes only the entered number of base monthly payments. Sales tax, acquisition and disposition fees, deposits, insurance, excess mileage or wear, early termination and residual buyout are excluded. This is an illustration, not a lease quote; actual contract charges and payment timing may differ.

Federal Reserve: money factor and rent charge; FTC: financing and leasing costs

Cost Breakdown

Base lease payment assumptions

Entered vehicle price is treated as adjusted capitalized cost. Monthly depreciation is price minus residual, divided by whole months. Monthly rent is price plus residual, multiplied by the decimal money factor. Total base payments are the monthly base payment times the entered term.

The model assumes zero down payment and no capitalized fees. Taxes, signing or return charges, deposits, insurance, mileage, wear, early termination and residual buyout are excluded. Residual cannot exceed entered price. Equal price and residual with zero money factor produces a genuine zero base payment.
