Compare monthly USD repayment scenarios using an entered nominal rate, a target term and monthly extra payments; explicit cent posting.
Standard repayment
Entered fixed nominal annual rate, divided by 1200 for monthly interest. Payments occur at month end; extra payments start with month 1. All amounts are USD. Fees, daily-interest calendars, prepayment penalties, lump sums and biweekly payments are excluded. This is a scenario projection rather than a servicer payoff quote.
Principal and requested extra payment round to cents first, half up. Each month’s interest rounds to cents, half up, before payment. The derived regular payment is the smallest whole-cent amount that pays off on or before the selected target term. The actual final payment is capped at that month’s amount due. Displayed payoff is the actual number of payments, which can be earlier than the target.
